Getting started

Creating an account, choosing a path and your first lesson.

Creating your account

What we ask for, and why role selection comes first.

You choose a path before you create an account: learning or teaching. The two use the same identity — you never need a second account — but the sign-up asks for different things, so the choice comes first.

What you need

  • An email address you can receive a code at
  • A password of at least 8 characters
  • Your timezone, so lessons show in your local time

Mentors go on to identity verification and a teaching demo before they can publish. Students can browse and book immediately.

Choosing your first mentor

What to look for, and what a trial lesson should tell you.

Every mentor profile carries voice samples, pricing tiers and reviews written by students who actually took the lesson. Listen before you book — that is what the samples are for.

Worth asking in a first lesson

  • What do you hear in my voice right now?
  • What would we work on first, and why that?
  • What would you not teach me — where would you send me instead?

There is no contract and no exclusivity. If the fit is wrong, book someone else next time.

What happens in a first lesson

Usually a diagnostic, and what you leave with.

Most mentors run the first session as a diagnostic: a range and register survey, a breath and onset check, and an honest read of the two things worth working on first.

You should leave with a written plan. If you did not get one, ask — it is the part that makes the next month useful.
